Charles Henderson Bond

​Charles Henderson Bond was born in Miller County , near Iberia , on July 9, 1878. He was the oldest of eleven children born to Louis Allen Bond and Martha Elizabeth Blize. The children of Louis and Martha were:

Charles Henderson (Charlie) Bond married Sarah Isabelle/Izzie Barlow in Miller County on December 9, 1900. She was born in Miller County 19 Aug 1878, a daughter of James and Margaret (Sorter) Barlow. The children of James and Margaret Barlow included:

4. Sarah Isabelle Barlow 1878-1953 (called Izzie)
5. John E. Barlow b. 1880
6. Andrew E. Barlow 1882-1952
7. Mollie Barlow b. 1885
8. William D. Barlow b. 1889

Charles lived most of his life in Miller County , near Iberia , except for a short time at Panama, Oklahoma . He was a farmer and once owned and operated a café at Iberia. He and Izzie were members of Iberia Methodist Church and he also was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America at Iberia. The children of Charles/Charlie and Sarah Isabelle (Izzie) were:

1. Burgess Bond b. 1902 and died in 1904
2. Lottie Bond 1905-1990 m. Harvey Barr
3. Billie Woodrow Bond 1912-1974 (moved to Wapato, Washington )

Charles/Charlie Bond died 8 March 1971 and was survived by 2 children, 6 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. He was also survived by a brother, John Dow Bond of Iberia; two sisters: Nettie Bond Hensley of Ulman and Sadie Bond Law of Eldon. His wife of 53 years, Izzie (Barlow) Bond, had died in 1953 and was buried at Livingston Cemetery, a few miles north of Iberia . Charlie’s funeral services were held at the Iberia Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Earl Basil Brown and then he was buried beside Isabelle/Izzie at Livingston Cemetery .
