Poetry by Peggy
As with most writers and authors their writing career began with the love of poetry and the penned verse. Peggy (Smith) Warman Hake was no different. Her prose writing began when she was just a teenager, and while she found an interest in the historical and genealogical side of writing, her love for poetry never waned. Below is a few poems she wrote over the years...

"For many years my mother (Peggy Hake) wrote a column, "Window to the Past", for the newspaper, as mentioned above, and in which this website is named for. It is my pleasure to feature some of her articles, some that have never been published before, and share her wonderful talents of writing. I have always referred to her as the ultimate 'storyteller' for Peggy's words not only kept you interested, but they took you to another era in time with such a flair!" ~ Kelly Warman-Stallings
