"Window to the Past"
In the Heart of the Ozarks
(Written c/1950)
In the heart of the Ozarks, is as beautiful as can be
It's a beautiful nature made by God for sightseers to see.
There are lakes, mountains, hills and rivers
Missouri is proud of the scenery that God has given her.
In the heart of the Ozark is the land of the great Osage
It has been faithful to men in many an age.
From there, into the mouth of the Missouri it flows
Then into the great Mississippi it goes.
In the heart of the Ozarks, people are everyone's friend
The friendship between each other never ever ends.
People try to be friendly with everyone they see
They try to be as helpful as they possibly can be.
