Current Schools of Miller County (2025)

For over 185 years, education has been a lasting privilege for the children of Miller County. While school districts have significantly reduced in size over time, the quality of education has remained consistent.​

​

There are five school districts in Miller County:

​

        R-I ---- Eldon

        R-II---- School of the Osage

        R-III----Miller County/Tuscumbia

        R-IV----St. Elizabeth

        R-V ----Iberia​

 

Miller County has a total of 14 public schools, 1 private school (Parochial) and 1 State-operated school serving 5,355 students:

    R-I:

  •  Eldon Middle School 

  •  Eldon High School 

  •  Eldon Career Center 

  •  Dogwood Hills State School 

    R-II:

  •  Early Childhood Center

    R-III:

  •  Miller County/Tuscumbia School

​99% of all PK-12 students in Miller County are educated in public schools.

​

There are no designated schools for the blind or deaf children in Miller County.

​

Dogwood Hills State School (K-12), located in Eldon, is the only Special Education facility in the county. There are currently 13 students, 3 teachers and 8 paraprofessionals (teacher-assistant). 

​​​

Our Lady of the Snows School (PK-8), located in Marys Home, is the only private Catholic school in the county. The 2025-2026 Parish monthly tuition is $1325 per child, with discounted rates for families with two or more children. Out of Parish tuition is $2250 per family. Lunch fees are not included.

​

There are currently 442 schoolteachers in Miller County, with each making an average wage of $42,854 per year.​​

Note: This building was built after the old school burned down in 1960.

Note: This building was the original School of the Osage High School until 1986.

Heritage Elementary relocated to this building in 2014.

Note: This school was built not long after the old high school burned down in May of 1959. The old elementary school closed around the same era of time; all classes were consolidated into one school.
